Dear CLICK users,

First and foremost, I welcome you to this new, smashing web portal produced by the Association of Water and Energy Research Malaysia (AWER) that would be useful in your daily life. You want to measure the energy consumption and carbon emissions from your electrical appliances and gadgets then it is just a click away from CLICK. I would encourage you to try it out – I have used it myself!

The British High Commission is pleased to have sponsored AWER in producing this web portal via our Prosperity Fund scheme. Helping to mitigate climate change impacts around the world is a big agenda for the UK government. We do this in various ways in many of the countries where we are represented. So, we are extremely pleased that AWER has chosen a rather innovative and interactive way in delivering this product to the Malaysian public.

This small but significant public focused project is a showcase of how all levels of society can play their role to be energy efficient – one of the many pathways in achieving a low carbon lifestyle.

This web portal is a genuine low carbon tool developed to assist the Malaysian public, and we are pleased to be associated with its establishment. The key feature of the portal, the Click d’ Thief is a calculator that helps public as well as business entities to carry out simple energy consumption audit and carbon footprint identification. It is an innovative way of assisting people and businesses to measure and make sound decisions in regards to their electrical appliance uses and purchases and with that the associated energy consumption and its resulting carbon emissions.

We hope this online portal will become an important tool for Malaysians as well as an exemplary showcase to other countries around the world to emulate.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate AWER on their successful establishment of this web portal. I hope CLICK grows as an important online tool for those who want to be energy efficient in their daily life. So, start CLICKING for free from today!

Thank you.
